Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month? National Nutrition Month is a yearly campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics where they invite everyone learn about making informed food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits.
When my friends at BabbleBoxx reached out to me to write a post sharing my thoughts on a box that they created in celebration of National Nutrition Month, I was really excited because all of the products that I’m going to share today are vegan!
So what is in my box?
We’ve got Coconut Secret Organic Coconut Aminos, which is a soy-free Soy Sauce alternative. Sean is a huge fan of Coconut Aminos, we were first introduced to them our first visit to Trilogy Sanctuary and have started to use them on a regular basis.
You can use Coconut Aminos as a 1:1 replacement for soy sauce, it’s perfect for stir-fries, marinates, & dips. It’s also soy-free, gluten-free & MSG-free. I like to use Coconut Aminos for soy based sauces.
Next Up is Mighty Sesame Harissa Tahini! It’s creamy ready to use tahini made with Roasted Hulled Sesame Seeds and Harissa Spices. They have this version and an Organi Tahini version. I personally am not a huge fan of harissa seasoning so this isn’t my favorite version but it is super convenient in a squeezable bottle.
Mighty Sesame squeezable tahini is super easy to use, you just shake and squeeze. It’s versatile, you can use it to create a hummus, add onto salad or sandwiches or even blend into a fruit smoothie for some extra protein. It’s vegan, gluten free, Kosher and has loads of vitamins and minerals like 7g of protein & 260mg of calcium per serving!
Next up is a oldie but goodie, Minute Rice!! I don’t know about you but I’ve been a fan of Minute Rice for many years. It’s been around since the 1940s and it’s quality rice that’s cooked then dried.
I got two versions of the microwaveable rice cups to share. Minute Basmati (one of my favorite styles of rice) and Minute Brown Rice & Quinoa. Super simple to make, just pull off the plastic cover, microwave for 1 minute & then eat! You can even eat it from the container or plate for a fancier look ;).
Both version are perfect for easy on the go meals and are perfectly portioned so no more making too much. Both versions are also vegan, cholesterol free, MSG free & Gluten Free Certified and have in BPA-free 100% recyclable containers.
I am a huge fan of rice and can eat bowls of plain basmati rice, in fact I distinctly remember getting cereal bowls full of rice from the cafeteria in college and just adding a little salt. So yummy, but now I add lots of veggies and a little protein to the mix too.
Next up is the product that I had to hide from Sean because he was soooo excited. It’s Nutiva Hazelnut Spread!! Are you a Nutella fan? Well Nutella is not vegan but Nutiva’s Hazelnut Spread is!!
Made with 40% less sugar than the original & 100% plant-based, Nutiva Hazelnut Spread is Sean’s new favorite snack! We’ve been searching for vegan nutella and we finally found it!
You can use Nutiva Hazelnut Spread on pancakes, waffles, toast, ice cream, etc. but I’ll be honest we just eat it straight out of the container in big spoonfuls!
Lastly we’ve got RECIPE 33 Infused Almonds. Currently available in 5 unique flavor combinations, RECIPE 33 almonds aren’t sticky, salty or messy like other flavored almonds.
The five flavors are Black Truffle, Smoky Serrano, Garlic Dill, Lemon Rosemary & Cinnamon Vanilla. There are only 3-5 ingredients per flavor & no seasonings or oils to get all over your hands. The flavors are pretty mild, but you can taste them.
Of the different flavored almonds, my favorite is the Cinnamon Vanilla and I love adding it to my oatmeal or vegan yogurt in the morning. It’s such a nice flavor. Sean’s a big fan of the Smoky Serrano which is made with fresh serrano peppers.
What would be your favorite flavor?
